It's today! Today is the 4th anniversary of my blog. This is my 480th post! I really never believed I would make it this far - thanks for sticking with me. As a reward for your tenacity, I have, as promised, TWO gift bundles for you to choose from. I chose to give away two bundles because I know some of my regular readers are sewing fans and the others are knitting or crochet fans.
The first bundle is for the fabric fiends. I have put together a fat quarter bundle.
This bundle is made up of three fat quarters from Tula Pink's "The Birds and The Bees" range of quilting cottons. I have added a further two fat quarters of Kona Cotton in Raisin and Robin Egg. I chose these two colours from the Kona range by matching the Tula Pink fabric against my Kona Cotton Colour Card.
To help you chose your contrast solids, in the future, I am including in this prize bundle a Kona Colour Card, with an additional card which shows the latest colours. This card is invaluable when choosing what solids to buy, especially, if like me, you do much of your shopping online.
The second bundle is for you yarnies. This bundle is for three skeins of yarn.
I know what you are thinking. You are thinking "but this is only a picture of TWO skeins of yarn. Has the woman gone mad?", but I promise I haven't finally become totally unhinged. I have a very special treat for the winner of the second bundle. We have a sponsor for this giveaway, one of my favourite indie dyers, BabyLongLegs.
BabyLongLegs has very kindly offered to custom dye a skein of Semi-Precious DK yarn. This yarn is fabulously delicious. It is comprised of 50% superwash merino and 50% silk. It weighs 100g and is 212m/230yds in length. BabyLongLegs dyes wonderfully saturated colours, many of which I have shared with you over the last 4 years. Here is a photo of the "Thing of Complete Beauty" colourway, to whet your appetite.
To get you even more excited, here is a close up of a skein, of the same yarn, in the "Straw Pole" colourway, that I bought recently from BabyLongLegs.
I KNOW whoever wins this prize will end up with a gorgeous skein of yarn. I really can't say it often enough, I really love BabyLongLegs yarn and her eye for colour never fails. To have a look at some of her other colours and yarn, click on the BabyLongLegs banner.
The other two skeins on offer are also dyed by UK based indie dyers, as I wanted to share with you some of our UK talent.
The skein of blue yarn, shown above, was dyed by Posh Yarns. It is Sadie Lace in the "It's a True Story" colourway. The skein is 100g in weight and is 800m/875yds in length. Sadie Lace is made of 50% merino and 50% tencel and is beautifully smooth, light and soft as a result.
The green and purple skein is dyed by Countess Ablaze. The yarn is Lady Katherine Sock Yarn, a superwash 4-ply (fingering weight) yarn. It weighs 100g and is 400m/437yds in length. It is comprised of 75% wool and 25% nylon. This is a gorgeous colourway, that is made of a smooth and strong yarn.
For the first time I will be using Rafflecopter to help me administer this giveaway. I don't want to demand you jump through hoops to win these prizes as this is not an advertising exercise, but a way of saying thank you to all those who read my posts and help me feel a part of this wonderful community.
All you need to do is click on the "+1 Do It" button on the Rafflecopter widget and then tell me which which prize you want to win. You can choose Bundle 1 or Bundle 2 or either. You don't need to leave a comment, but it's always good to hear from you!
If you are the first person drawn you will get first choice on your bundle. The second person drawn can either take the remaining choice, or decline if it is really not what they want. If the person who came second declines the prize, a third party will be drawn, and so on until both prizes are given away.
a Rafflecopter giveaway
This give away will close at midnight on 27th September EST and is open worldwide. I will post out the prizes within 7 days of receiving the winner's address. The winner of the BabyLongLegs yarn will be contacted by BabyLongLegs to discuss your yarn colour choice, which may need to be dyed and will probably take longer than 7 days to produce. BabyLongLegs will discuss any delays with the contest winner.
I really hope that these bundles of fun will go to good homes and will be made into pretty things for you to share. Good luck and thank you once again for reading my blog, each one of you is very special to me.
