Instagram Photo Update

via Instagram http://ift.tt/1zjFhvX Had myself a caking party on my birthday yesterday. This is all @kettleyarnco Twist and it's going to be an Exploration Station after seeing @mandobug and @milkyrobot share theirs on their podcasts. I'm going to hold off on casting on, until I've finished my current shawl project, though. It's good to know it's waiting for me though! #craft

via Instagram http://ift.tt/1C6kUU7 These are the colours I'm thinking of using together in a spinning project. I have 2 braids of the top left and one of top right. The bottom left shows them together. Bottom right shows the results of spinning one single from each braid and making a 3ply. Opinions please! Will it balance in the end, or not? #craft #igspinners

via Instagram http://ift.tt/1wVMukW Moab Shawl is done and dusted. This was pretty old handspun and I was worried how it would knit up, and is turned out really well. The fibre was from @picperficuk and was BFL/Silk in the Jewels colourway. #igspinners #craft

via Instagram http://ift.tt/1z4ycfm The colours on this gradient get better and better. It's @countessablaze merino if you are interested. The little bag is from Wildcraft and it's working brilliantly. It sits in my arm, keeping the fibre out of the way as I spin. No more tangled messes! #igspinners

via Instagram http://ift.tt/1oN8vv9 I've been spinning some @fondantfibre punis this morning. They are so easy to draft. They are my usual "I feel rubbish" spinning, because they practical spin themselves. #igspinners

via Instagram http://ift.tt/1uxg4Yl Today's challenge is to find the right project for the second skein of yarn I have ever dyed. I think it may have to be a shawl of some sort. Maybe a Hitchhiker. All suggestions for a sock yarn in a bouncy 2-ply measuring 350m are gratefully received!

Instagram Photo Update

via Instagram http://ift.tt/1nISe83 The results of a soak, a couple of snaps and being hung up to dry under it's own weight. I'm so glad I decided to ply this again, though the scary noodles of yesterday made me worry about it a bit. This yarn is now useable!

via Instagram http://ift.tt/TBXuRZ I'm finally getting around to putting extra ply in an unusable yarn from early in my spinning career. I hope I can rescue it because it's very pretty.

via Instagram http://ift.tt/1koL3lK In honour of #operationsockdrawer and #monthofsocks I decided to try knitting with DPNs for the first in years. I also decided to try the Cubics in rosewood as an additional layer of differences. I kind of like them.

via Instagram http://ift.tt/1gBBFw9 There are Shetland sheep in distance ...... honest! My other half's Dad offered to go and ask his neighbour if he wanted to get rid of a fleece. I was tempted for about 10 seconds until I came to my senses and remembered I never want to process a fleece, especially if I don't know the quality of it anyway. Still, it was a nice idea for those 10 seconds.

via Instagram http://ift.tt/1joI2mK The view from my spinning chair at the in laws. It's a beautiful day, in a gorgeous part of the world (Somerset) and there are Shetland sheep in the next field. What a perfect place for a spinner to be.

via Instagram http://ift.tt/1sxbbM5 I think I'm loading my blending board a little to much. Still, I got around a 60% success rate I think. I can't wait to give them a whirl.

via Instagram http://ift.tt/1nOu6UZ It's days like today when the sun is shining, the birds are singing and it's warm enough to open the doors, that I love how overgrown our garden is. It feels like we live in a woodland meadow, even though we live in suburbia.
