Sew Mama, Sew Giveaway Day
For those not in the know, today is the world famous Sew Mama, Sew Giveaway Day. Today is the day that creative blogs and online shops give stuff away and it is all listed on the Sew Mama, Sew pages. Every year this giveaway gets bigger and better. Some of the prizes are amazing - from handmade beauties to the raw materials to make them. It is also a great way to find new and interesting blogs and shops - I have have found several over the last couple of years, through these contests.
This year for the first time, I have actually decided to join in the giveaway madness and throw some materials into the ring. I couldn't decide whether I should give some of my precious fabric away or some of my delicious yarn, so I decided to do BOTH!!! Here are the two packs that I am planning on giving away, one pack to each of two winners:
1 Skein of GEM Starsock - 4 ply yarn comprised of bamboo silk and wool in the Powder Puff Plant colourway. This is a gorgeous and silky sock yarn, which measures 360 yards and weighs 100g. This is produced by Green Eyed Monster and I love it, I think you will too. I'm afraid I've lost the tag, but I imagine you should wash by hand in order to preserve the gorgeous and vibrant colours.
1 Skein of Lang Mille Fiame - Super Bulky Yarn comprised of 50% wool and 50% acrylic. This soft and bouncy yarn is 98 yards and weighs 100g. This skein should be enough to create a lovely scarf. The colours are gorgeous and a really unusual combination.
1 Skein of Colourmart Merino Lace Weight - 2 ply Lace Weight yarn made of 100% merino. This delicate and soft yarn is 50g and 800 yards in length.
I think these three yarns should provide something for everybody, and increase and enhance any stash. Here are all three together for you to drool over!
This pack is comprised of 4 fat quarters in co-ordinating fabrics. They are batik dyed.
Here is a collage that shows the fabrics a little more clearly.
These fabrics have all been washed, ready for use.
The colours of the fabric and the yarn are as close as I can make them to real life (on my monitor) but as with anything, different technologies can create variables.
So, how do you get your sticky mitts on my lovely loot? As I said, I am giving these prizes away as "packs". So there will be two winners. If you leave a comment stating which pack you want - Yarn, Fabric or Either, I will then choose two people at random. The first person chosen will get first choice of which pack they prefer. Wouldn't it be lovely if the two people wanted different packs? I bet that doesn't happen!
Please make sure you leave a way for me to get in touch. My commenting system Disqus does leave space for you to put your email address on, so please ensure that you do, so I can get in touch with you if you are a winner. If you do not leave a way to contact you, you won't win. Don't worry if you don't see your comment appearing straight away. I have to approve a comment before it appears on my blog, and I will be doing it at various points through the day, so it may be several hours before it appears. Remember that I am in the UK and may be asleep while you are posting your comment!
I WILL POST INTERNATIONALLY.
The contest will close on 25th May, at midnight EST as this the time zone that Sew Mama, Sew uses. I will make the draw using the True Random Generator on 26th May and will notify the winners as soon as possible to obtain addresses and confirm prize choices.
My lovely regulars know I nearly always talk back to you on the comments, but I won't be this time. I'm not ignoring you it's so I don't have to count commenters when it comes time to plug the numbers in to the generator! Forgive me just this once?
I hope that you like my offerings and look forward to, potentially, seeing some new names on my blog. But I still hope that my usual readers still enter, remember your chance of winning is equal to that of a new reader!
Oh and if you haven't heard of this Giveaway Day before, I really recommend you go and have a look at the contest lists.
