Back to the Craft

It feels like forever since I told you about my current crafty projects.   Probably because it is forever.   It is less than a week since I started building the website, but it has eaten into my crafting time.   This means I don't have much I can show you.   Plus TWO of my current projects are destined to be gifts, so they are not going to be posted until after they are given.   All of which makes for a very empty blog.   Ah well, I do have something to show you!

I present for your delectation Extravaganza.   Its very pretty, and is a test knit for Marleen of Dutch Knitting Design.

I fell in love with the pattern as soon as I saw the picture, so jumped at the chance to be a test knitter.  This lovely cape is knit using Rowan Kidsilk Haze, which as every knitter knows, is like a drug.   It is almost impossible to resist any pattern in this sumptious yarn.   Finding a lovely pattern, in this yarn, which uses only 4 skeins is like hitting the jackpot.

I chose this soft cream colour as I thought it would look good over every colour of clothing.   I also think it looks quite sophisticated.

Isn't it lovely in close up!   This pattern is supposed to be finished by 24th August, so I need to get a move on.   However, I can't knit it at knit groups because I go wrong, and unpicking Kidsilk Haze is a nightmare of epic proportions.   The beautiful looking haze, wraps itself up and getting it unwrapped is almost impossible.   I will take one of my gift knits on my travels and stick to Extravaganza at home.   Hopefully I will have more to show you soon.   So until then, please be patient!
